Kumho Petrochemical Resin Ulsan

In April 2007, Veolia Water signed a contract with Korea Kumho Petrochemical Corporation (KKPC) for the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater facilities of its resin plant on Ulsan Industrial Complex. For 15 years, Veolia Water must provide them with process water, cooling water, domestic water and treated wastewater.

CHALLENGE

Water treatment is of primary concern for a petrochemical complex for two reasons. First, process water must meet stringent specifications for quality petrochemical production. Secondly, cooling water is crucial and regarded as the most critical process in such a complex.

Kumho Resin was looking for a contractor to supply the required volumes of quality water, treat wastewater to discharge standards and ensure continuity of services, while minimizing costs and controlling regulatory risks.
